Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the operator of Brainelo. By creating an account, playing at play.brainelo.de or using the Brainelo app, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Brainelo is a brain-training platform with mini-games, daily challenges, Elo ratings, leaderboards, friends and achievements, available as a browser game at play.brainelo.de and as a mobile app (together, the "service"). Brainelo is in active development (beta); features may change while it evolves.

Parts of the service are paid (Brainelo Pro, offered as subscriptions or one-time purchases via the app stores). During the beta, much of the content is free — we always disclose before a purchase what is paid.

• •You can play as a guest or register (Google sign-in or email and password). Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
• •Keep your credentials confidential — you are responsible for all activity under your account.
• •You can delete your account at any time (in the app under Settings, or on the Delete Account page).
• •We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

• •Play fair: no cheats, bots, automation, exploits or manipulation of ratings and leaderboards.
• •Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech or offensive usernames and profile pictures.
• •No scraping, reverse engineering, decompiling or attacking the service or its servers.
• •Do not use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

We may remove content, revoke ratings or close accounts that break these rules.

• •Purchases are processed through the app store you buy from (e.g. Google Play Billing). Renewals, cancellations and refunds follow that store's terms.
• •Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your store account settings.
• •Pro access and virtual items have no cash value and are non-transferable.
• •Prices may change; changes never affect periods you have already paid for.

• •The service — games, design, code, texts and the Brainelo brand — is owned by Klaus Greiner and protected by copyright and other laws.
• •You get a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the service for its intended purpose. Anything else requires our written permission.
• •Content you upload (username, profile picture) stays yours; by uploading it you grant us the non-exclusive right to store and display it within the service.

Usernames, display names, profile pictures, ratings and streaks are visible to other players in leaderboards, player search and challenges. Only upload content you are allowed to share publicly.

We work hard to keep the service available and error-free, but we cannot guarantee it. The service is provided "as is"; maintenance, changes and outages may occur at any time.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including lost profits or data) arising from the use of the service. This does not apply to intent or gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or liability under the German Product Liability Act. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.

These Terms apply for as long as you use the service. You can end them at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms; where possible we will tell you why.

We may adapt these Terms as the service evolves. We will announce material changes in the app or on this page with reasonable advance notice. If you keep using the service after the new Terms take effect, they apply to you.

German law applies. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
